As a member of the PolyU Research Centre for Electric Vehicles (RCEV), Dr Mingyuan JIANG is looking for highly motivated PhD Students and Research Assistants.

Requirements

The applicant must meet ALL of the following requirements:
- Basic admission requirements for PolyU RPGs:
  - Degree requirements: Visit the link above
  - English requirements: IELTS >= 6.5 or TOFEL>=80
- Requirements for fellowship and scholarship
- Honesty, certain stress tolerance, self-disciplined, positive in research
The applicant must meet AT LEAST TWO of the following requirements:
- Use of Software (e.g., Ansys Maxwell 2D/3D, JMAG, python, MATLAB, etc.)
- Publication records
- Hardware test and design experience

RGC Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (港府博士奖学金, HKPFS): HKD 28,100/month
PolyU Presidential PhD Fellowship Scheme (理大校长博士奖学金, PPPFS): HKD 27,790/month

PolyU Research Centre for Electric Vehicles (RCEV) is a new university-level research centre which was launched on 26 Feb 2024. The Director of the Research Centre is Prof. C. C. Chan, a Distinguished Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), who is the first Academician of CAE (中国工程院院士) in Hong Kong, and also a renowned expert in the field and widely recognised as the “Father of Asian electric vehicles”. The Co-Director is Prof. K. T. Chau, a Chair Professor in EEE. RCEV aims to address the technical challenges of modern electric vehicles (EVs) and provide significant technological solutions. By integrating EV technology with energy, information, humanity, and policy, the Centre follows the philosophy of integrating the human, cyber, and physical worlds. One of the Centre’s primary goals is to transfer the developed technologies to industries, particularly within the Greater Bay Area, enabling them to capitalise on the abundant opportunities presented by EVs globally. This technology transfer will also play a vital role in supporting the realisation of carbon neutrality in various countries and cities, including Hong Kong.
